New Android Marketplace App Unveiled : Books and Movies Supported
Google lifted the curtains from its latest redesign of the Android Marketplace app. The application now supports renting movies and purchasing books straight from the app itself in supported countries. Alongside , it brings a major overhaul in the UI of the application.
The major changes include :
1. In the U.S., users will be able to rent thousands of movies, starting at $1.99, right from Android Market on your phone via a special Videos application. The app supports downloading of movies alongside streaming so that users can watch even when offline.
2. Ability to purchase books from Android Market on your phone. The books are automatically synced across all your Android powered devices.
3. Overhauled interface of the marketplace app.
4. Supports collections including staff picks and Editors’ Choice apps.
The updated application will roll out to Android 2.2+ phones in the coming weeks. The videos app will only be available in the US. Check out the hands on video of the update below :
