Samsung launches Theme Designer 2.0 for bada developers

Samsung has launched a new version of the Theme Designer tool for bada developers. The Samsung Theme designer 2.0 now supports Wave 3 and Wave M, bada 2.0 devices and also has support for flash content (.swf). The authoring tool includes model specific pre-set information, image / animation / flash components, preview function, and sample theme templates. The process is less with the theme designer that includes simple steps in the stages of concept and design. The previous version, 1.0.5 was launched this May.

New features in the Samsung Theme Designer 2.0

Theme type has been changed:  bada 1.x / Feature(Touch) / Feature (NonTouch) Phone Theme.Samsung Theme Designer newly supports bada 2.x Phone Theme type.Samsung Theme Designer newly supports bada Flash Extension Services.Samsung Theme Designer newly supports GT-S8600(Wave III/bada 2.x) and GT-S7250(Wave M/bada 2.x).

Go to Samsung Developers’ site and login to Download the Theme Designer 2.0 for bada 2.0. After developing the theme, the developers can easily submit their themes to the Samsung Apps store.

Samsung announces bada 2.0 Power App Race contest for developers

Samsung has announced the bada 2.0 Power App Race for bada 2.0 developer globally that would offer them a chance to win cash prize up to $100,000 each. This is the second year of the Power App Race contest, and this would let the developers create new and innovative apps using the bada 2.0 SDK.

A total of ten applications – including five game applications, and five non-game applications will be selected and rewarded with prize money totaling $1,000,000. The app would also receive  ‘Power App’ mark at Samsung Apps, exclusive marketing and promotion benefits. Developers who wish to participate should register directly on the bada developer site.

Entries open on October 18th and will close at midnight on December 31st. Developers can enter as many applications as they wish. The winners are judged by the people. The first 10 apps to reach 100,000 cumulative downloads would be chosen as the final winners, announced on the bada developer site upon reaching the target.
