Thanksgiving Sale: 80% off on EA iPhone and iPad Games

Electronic Arts has started their Thanksgiving sale that offers iOS games at at 80% offer and Android games at 40% offer. This offers iPhone games at as low as $0.99 and iPad games as low as $2.99 and Android games as low as $0.99. Their previous sale was Labor Day. Gameloft has also started their Thanksgiving deals for iPhone and iPad games.

Spice Labs launches BlackBerry Apps and Games for Kids

Spice Labs has launched Educational and Entertaining BlackBerry Apps for kids aged between 1 to 10 years. These apps are designed to keep the children engaged for hours as they can learn alphabets, numbers, and spellings and lots more.

Magic Canvas – It is an interesting coloring app that comes with many sketches which can be colored using a magic brush that could be controlled by trackpad/trackball.Rhymes – This lets the kids to learn rhymes and learn new words and sentences. It comes with Child Lock that prevents against any accidental key presses.Memory – This is the classic card matching game that sharpens memory while providing hours of fun. This also has new Multiplayer mode so that you can play with your friends and family.Jigsaw – This is the Classic Jigsaw game with Vibrant photos and entertaining puzzles. EA games coming soon to Micromax phones as company inks deal with Nazara Technologies

Micromax has entered into a partnership with Nazara Technologies which is the exclusive partner for EA Games ( Electronics Arts) in India. EA is famous for games like Need for Shift , Fifa , Cricket and soon these games will be pre-loaded on Micromax phones.

Users will be able to play these games for free for 5 times after which they would have to purchase it outright for Rs.49 or Rs.99 depending on the game. The company is claiming to have support for operator billing and has managed to offer even a day pass for Rs.3 per day for a game.From the specs of Micromax phones, these games are mostly J2ME / Java games which were a craze few years back.  Currently operators also offer similar games through their WAP portals but I’m not sure if they are compatible with Micromax phones. What do you think about this move by Micromax ?

iOS and Android will soon be able to play Xbox 360 games

We have been waiting for a long time to be able to play Xbox 360 games on our iPhones and Android devices, well for all you gamers, this wait is going to end soon as Andrew Russell, a well known developer is in works to create an open source software which will enable game devs to port their Xbox 360 and Windows Phone7 games to IOS and Android devices.

With powerful dual core devices with great GPU coming out in the market, we have been waiting for these games to arrive soon to taste the raw power. Russell has named the project as “ExEn” which is being funded by the dev community, and was unveiled to developers who had donated for the project. The software makes It easy for the devs who use the XNA framework to build Xbox 360, Windows and Windows Phone 7 games.

David Beckham Becomes Samsung Olympic Games Ambassador

Samsung has just hired international footballer and cultural icon David Beckham as their Olympics Games Ambassador. He will be the Games Ambassador for the Olympics taking place in London next year.

David Beckham says that he is excited to be a part of a great company like Samsung. He also presented the Samsung Galaxy S II. he praised the evolution of technology where people will be able to watch the Olympics even from their mobile phones if they are not able to make it to the event.

He said that he’s not sure what he will be doing but hints at coaching, managing and playing as the three options. He said that it was an honour to be part of such an event and that such an event in UK would inspire a lot of people.
