Apple to Launch iPad 3 With Retina Display, Quad-Core Processor And 4G LTE Support in March?
Bloomberg reports according to "three people familiar with the product", Apple will launch iPad 3 in March, which will come with a high-definition screen, run a faster processor and also work on 4G LTE networks. Bloomberg reports:
The company’s manufacturing partners in Asia started ramping up production of the iPad 3 this month and plan to reach full volumes by February, said one of the people, who asked not to be named because the details aren’t public. The tablet will use a quad-core chip, an enhancement that lets users jump more quickly between applications, two of the people said.
Bloomberg goes on to add:Apple is bringing LTE to the iPad before the iPhone because the tablet has a bigger battery and can better support the power requirements of the newer technology, said one of the people.
The new display is capable of greater resolution than the current iPad, with more pixels on its screen than some high- definition televisions, the person said. The pixels are small enough to make the images look like printed material, according to the person. Videos begin playing almost instantly because of the additional graphics processing, the person said.
As reported earlier in the week, Bloomberg also claims that the iPad 3 production started at the beginning of the month.
Apple is widely expected to launch iPad 3 with Retina Display. However, there has been contradictory rumors about the thickness of the next iPad. Some reports have claimed that it will be slightly thicker to accomodate the change in LED backlight design for iPad 3's Retina Display, while others insist iPad 3 will be thinner than iPad 2.
We really hope that this rumor of a iPad 3 with Retina Display, quad-core processor and 4G LTE support turns out to be true. What about you?

Rumor: iPad 3 to Sport Quad-Core Chip, LTE, HD Display
Apple's next-generation iPad will arrive in March packing a quad-core processor, LTE wireless functionality, and a new display with better resolution than you'll find on a lot of HD television sets, according to a report published Friday by Bloomberg.
The news agency cited three anonymous sources "familiar with the product" in its report. One told Bloomberg that Apple's Asian manufacturing partners had begun ramping up production of the next-gen tablet that's expected to be dubbed the iPad 3, with Foxconn, the main assembler of the device, running its factories 24 hours a day to get product shipped.
Sources also told the agency that the new iPad will sport a quad-core chip, which if true, would confirm a report first put out by 9to5Mac.com earlier this month. The Apple-watching blog discovered references to core management capabilities for quad-core processors buried within Apple's iOS 5.1 beta code.
What's more, "videos begin playing almost instantly" thanks to a boost in graphics processing horsepower as well, one source told Bloomberg.
There's already been a good deal of speculation that the iPad 3 will feature an upgraded display because there was no change on that front from the first-generation tablet to the iPad 2. Rumor had it last year that Apple's Taiwan suppliers were already shipping iPad 3 displays to the company in November.
Apple is supposedly getting on the LTE bandwagon with the iPad before the iPhone because it feels more comfortable running the new, power-hungry wireless tech on a device with a bigger battery, according to Bloomberg's sources.
As for the March release date, Apple characteristically isn't confirming or denying anything, but earlier rumors have placed the iPad 3's debut as soon as February.

NVIDIA unveils Quad-Core Tegra 3 processor for Tablets and Mobile Phones

NVIDIA has unveiled the world’s first Quad-Core Tegra 3 processor for tablets and mobile phones. This is said to offer PC-class performance levels, better battery life and better mobile experiences (Better web experience, faster applications and multitasking) in tablets and mobile phones. This was previously named, Project Kal-El that was confirmed by the Nvidia CEO in AsiaD last month.
The Tegra 3 processor has 12-core GeForce GPU that would offer 3x the graphics performance of Tegra 2, and up to 61 percent lower power consumption that would offer 12 hours of battery life for HD video playback. This is based on Variable SMP (vSMP) Multi-Core CPU Architecture for Low Power and High Performance. This is designed to use less power while running in four cores than dual-core processors.
It shuts down its 4 cores while performing tasks that require less power consumption like, music, playing back video or updating background data and uses its companion core. It switches to the cores from the companion cores while performing heavy tasks like web browsing, multitasking and gaming.
It offers full game-controller support that would let the consumers to play games on their tablet or super phone, or connect to big screen HDTVs for a truly immersive experience and offers 3D Vision technology and automatically converts OpenGL applications to stereo 3D, so consumers can experience 3D on a big screen 3D TV (via HDMI 1.4).
40 Tegra games are expected to be available by the end of 2011 and over 15 Tegra 3 games are under development for Tegra Zone. The Tegra 3 processor is in production and it is expected to be available in December 2011 starting with the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime with more devices in future. Developers can download Tegra 3 developer’s kit now.
