6 Million Android tablets sold– Andy Rubin
Have you ever wondered how well are the Android tablets selling?
According to the god father of Android, Andy Rubin , who provided a detail about it, 6 million tablets have been sold at AsiaD yesterday. We had previously heard that only 3.4 million Honeycomb tablets have been sold till now, from developer estimates, previously this month. If these developer estimates were to be precise, that means that a little over half the Android tablets out there, are Honeycomb.
Google is pitching out to get even more Android Tablets into the market. Yet, it is neither clear if the number of tablets Rubin offers includes only Honeycomb devices or earlier tablets that ran the smartphone version of the OS like the original Galaxy Tab, nor it’s clear if the developer estimate was veracious.
Google hopes that the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be a great motivator for Android tablet adoption. The revolutionary 4.0 version of Android will be for tablets and smartphones in one build, thus maintaining the ecosystem.

FaceBook $500 million Offer To Buy Twitter
The microblogging site Twitter turned down a $500 million purchase offer from the social networking site Facebook in 2008, according to the Financial Times.
According to the Financial Times, Facebook CEO and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg offered $500 million in Facebook stock for Twitter.
But Stone said Facebook had nothing that Twitter's three co-founders -- Stone, Evan Williams and Jack Dorsey -- wanted. The daily added, without elaboration, that Twitter still isn't turning a profit more than four years after it was created.
In mid-December, Twitter said it had received a major infusion of funds from a group of investors, which reportedly put a $3.7 billion value on the site. Created in 2006 to exchange messages of no more than 140 characters, Twitter had 175 million registered users as of November 1, and transmitted 25 billion "tweets" last year.
About 95 million messages a day are sent over the site. It has pursued rapid growth over profits, but since last spring, it has brought in advertising revenues through paid for "promoted tweets."

“Our numbers are similar to the performance of other first generation mobile platforms. Yes, and I think our expectations are realistic for a new platform. We started fresh with Windows Phone 7, and it’s a different kind of phone. Measuring for success is more long term than short term. We have 18,000 developers who are developing for our marketplace.”
“We all know that the competition is extreme in this industry, and we have to compete on multiple fronts. We have to deliver a great product that people want to use. We have a different point of view than just delivering apps, and we have received great customer feedback on our approach”, said Achim Berg, corporate vice president, Mobile Communications Business and Marketing Group.
He also said that, Microsoft is working on updates that will take Windows Phone 7 to the next level. To read the full interview, head over to this page.
