Nokia N9 is now shipping in many countries

nokia n9 shipping

Nokia has announced on its official blog that the Nokia N9 powered by the MeeGo Operating system is finally shipping in many countries around the world. The highlights of the N9 include delicious hardware and a swipe based UI.   Pre-orders had started few weeks back in some markets and the response from the crowd has been extremely positive according to Nokia.  The N9 is launching in select countries around the world. We still can’t understand why Nokia can’t launch the N9 globally while it’s working on its Windows Phone portfolio.  The company barely has any handset in the high end category currently where profit margins are higher.

The device will be available in 3 colors in 16GB and 64GB capacities. The 16GB version will be priced at 480 EUR and the 64GB version will be priced at 560 EUR before taxes and prices will vary according to the market.

Nokia X7 and E6 Finally Shipping

Nokia just announced via its Nokia Conversations corporate blog that it has begun shipping its latest Symbian devices , the Nokia X7 and E6 as of today. The Nokia X7 is a monoblock form factor device with a 4? screen and the same internals as the Nokia E7 and other Symbian 3 devices. The Nokia E6 on the other hand makes it a bit more interesting by mixing the classic portrait qwerty design of the E72 with a new high resolution touch screen panel and upgrading the specs all over. Now with the same internals as other S^3 devices , the phone has what can be termed as a retina display.

Nokia E6

- QWERTY and touch experience offers faster navigation and operation than either a pure touch or keyboard-only system.
- Direct access to Microsoft business solutions (Mail for Exchange, Microsoft Communicator Mobile and Microsoft SharePoint).
- An 8-megapixel full focus camera with dual-LED flash 720p video recording and 8GB of internal memory.

Nokia X7

- Huge 4” inch screen with preloaded games for entertainment enthusiasts.
- 8-megapixel full focus camera with 720p video recording, dual-LED flash and 8GB memory card preinstalled.
- Beautiful, unique design. Toughened glass and seamless stainless steel.

The devices will ship with Symbian Anna onboard which brings in a new split screen keyboard , portrait qwerty and brand new icons. In typical Nokia fashion , this update is expected to roll out for other S^3 devices at an unforeseen , sometime in the future.

Nokia says that it’s finally shipping the C2-00 Dual SIM phone

nokia c2 shipping

Nokia has today announced that it’s finally shipping the Dual SIM C2-00 this quarter in markets such as India, China, Africa and Brazil which are developing markets. We got our hands on the phone at CommunicAsia in June 2010 and we don’t know what took Nokia so long to get this phone out in the market when the likes of Micromax and Karbonn churn out new Dual SIM phones every month.

The C2 has a talktime of around 5 hours and a standby time of 19 days. It has one swappable SIM card slot and runs on the Series 40 operating system.

The price of the C2-00 is expected to be 45 Euros before taxes which works out to roughly around Rs.3000.  The handset is expected to hit stores along with the X1-01 this quarter. We are not convinced until we really see them at stores.
