Evernote Hello for iPhone v1.1 update brings new features

Evernote Hello for iPhone has received a major update to version 1.1 that brings more options to add people, calendar tiles, new icon and more. They launched the first version of the app last December.

Foursquare for BlackBerry update brings Events, Check-in detail screen and more

Foursquare for BlackBerry has been updated to version 3.4.1 that brings lots of new features. The new Event tab lets you check-in to specific events and you can also view details like movie times and summaries. The Check-in details screen lets you view other’s points or badges, photos you took, and add comments inline.

Firefox for Android v8.0 update brings Better Security and Home Screen Bookmarks

Firefox for Android has been updated to version 8.0 that lets the users to set a master password to encrypt saved usernames and passwords for better security. This also has Home Screen Bookmark feature that lets the users add any bookmarks on their Android Home Screen. The Firefox mobile already has option to sync browser history, bookmarks, passwords and open tabs from any device and also supports add-ons. The previous version was Version 7.0 that was launched in September.

Twitter for BlackBerry v2.1 (Beta) brings Multi-Account support

Twitter for BlackBerry has been updated to version 2.1 in the Beta Zone. This version brings Multi-Account support and better profile functions for editing and account switching. The previous beta version 2.0 brought major changes such as geo location and push notification.The version 2.0 was released in the App World later with all those features. The recent minor update v2.0.0.15 Beta brought new color scheme, hidden compose bar, local trending topics etc. based on consumer feedback.

The Version 2.1 has Multi-Account support that lets you add up to 5 accounts. The user name and the images appears in the top header so that you could switch between accounts by using the Switch Account function from My Profile or via the Menu. The real time push notifications are also available for each Twitter accounts.

The new Edit Profile and Switch Accounts icons next to your name lets you change your picture or update your personal information. The Edit Profile screen has also been updated with new easy to use design.

Beta version of Twitter and Facebook apps could be downloaded from the Blackberry Beta Zone.

Skype v2.5 for Android brings video calling support for 14 more devices

Skype for Android has been updated to version 2.5.0.108 that brings 2-way video calling support to 14 more Android phones and tablets.The new version also supports video calling in some of the Android 2.2 (Froyo) devices. The Skype v2.1 brought the video calling support for 17 devices.

The compatible devices are Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, HTC Nexus One, HTC Shooter, Sony Ericsson Xperia Live with Walkman, Sony Ericsson Xperia neo V, LG Optimus Black, LG Optimus 3D, LG Optimus 2x, Motorola Photon, Motorola Droid 3, Motorola Bionic, Motorola Xoom, Motorola Atrix and Acer Iconia.

This version also has improved support for bluetooth headsets and number of bug fixes and performance enhancements video enhancements. Some of the other features include option to switch between portrait and landscape mode during video calls, and zoom in with a simple double tap on the screen, In-client advertising, conversations are now grouped around your contacts in recent view and option to edit and delete IM messages.

Android 2.3.4 update for Xperia PLAY brings 720p Video recording with Continuous Auto focus


We already told you that the 2011 Sony Ericsson Xperia devices are getting Android 2.3.4. Now a user in the XDA forum has confirmed that the stock camera now supports 720p video recording with continuous auto focus after the Android 2.3.4 update. This update also brings lots of other features that include Gtalk video calling support, Swype Keyboard and 3D sweep panorama.

One of the XDA member has posted the 720p video taken using the Xperia PLAY:

Other than the Gtalk video calling and the Swype keyboard, this update would also bring option to take screenshot without rooting the phone when the power button is pressed, share apps directly Facebook, option to set auto brightness, new smooth screen on/off animation, Ability to change playlist order, Option to enable/disable extensions and New icons for Folder and Widgets.

This update is also rolling out for Xperia Neo and Xperia arc in some the European countries.

HTC brings 5GB of Dropbox storage to Sense 3.5 devices

HTC just entered into a deal with Dropbox , the cloud storage company , to offer 5GB of free storage with all devices powered by Sense 3.5.

Dropbox offers 2GB of free space to users and allows them to upgrade up to 8GB via referral updates. With 5GB of free storage , that limit goes even higher. Currently the only Sense UI 3.5 powered device is the HTC Rhyme. This deal will only be for HTC’s Android devices as Microsoft has already included 25GB of free Skydrive space with all its WP7 devices.

Google+ for Android v1.0.7 update brings Hangout and lots of new features

Google+ for Android has got a major update to version 1.0.7, that brings the Hangout to the Android phones (Android 2.3+ and front-facing camera) that lets you join a hangout on the Google+ stream. Huddle is now renamed as Messenger. This also brings move to SD card support and lots of improvements.

Facebook for Android v1.6.0 brings video upload support

Facebook for Android has been updated to version 1.6.0, that brings video upload support. The previous version was 1.5.4 that was released this April. The new version also brings some improvements in the news feed and ability to view the Facebook pages. The video uploading feature was available for Facebook for PlayBook app recently.
