Foursquare for Android and iPhone gets new Explore features, Android app gets NFC Beam support

Foursquare has updated their Android and iPhone apps that brings new Explore feature with cleaner design and offers improved search results. The Foursquare for iPhone has been updated to version 4.2 that also brings improved handling of duplicate venues. The Foursquare for Android gets support for Android Beam that lets you send Venues, Lists and your profile to other Android (Requires Android 4.0 with NFC support) users.

The new Explore features include, option to change your location so that you can explore using the map in your city or find an address, filter option enables you to narrow your results by places you and your friends have been, and photos in your search results.

Download Foursquare for iPhone from the Apple iTunes Store and Foursquare for Android from the Android Market for free.

It also has a new slide-in pane when you click a result that lets you go back and forth from results to web pages quickly.

Google+ for Android v1.0.7 update brings Hangout and lots of new features

Google+ for Android has got a major update to version 1.0.7, that brings the Hangout to the Android phones (Android 2.3+ and front-facing camera) that lets you join a hangout on the Google+ stream. Huddle is now renamed as Messenger. This also brings move to SD card support and lots of improvements.

New Features in Google+ v1.0.7 for Android

Join hangouts from the mobile app just by entering into an active hangout in your streamSet profile photo from the app just by clicking edit on your profileShare photos in MessengerLong press on posts in stream to +1, share and muteImprovements in the video playback and public search for peopleMore options in the push notification settings for posts, mentions and photosMove app to your SD card
