Blackberry Milan : First Blackberry 10 based handset leaks
Hot on the heels of the announcement of the Blackberry 10 announcement comes the first leaked handset based on the new OS. The slider which is codenamed Milan joins the London, Lisbon and Nevada which are also part of RIM’s 2012 lineup.
Details about the handset are scarce but the render displays the absence of the optical trackpad , call, hang-up and menu and back buttons. The OS is expected to be heavily influenced by QNX on the Blackberry Playbook and will rely on gestures for completing actions. PayMate partners with Nokia to bring NFC based mobile payments to India
PayMate, wireless transactions platform provider has developed a unique and leading NFC technology solution that enables easy display, delivery, and purchase of goods and services using NFC. They have partnered with Nokia to showcase the capabilities of NFC in the mainstream Indian markets. PayMate has recently launched Inter Bank Mobile Payment Service (IMPS) in India.
Nokia promoted the NFC technology on their new phones Nokia 700 and Nokia 701 by offering Ra.One Bollywood movie contents such as ringtones, games, wallpapers. They have also placed NFC tags with unique content across almost 1,000 Nokia outlets in the country.
Other than sharing text, images, URLs and other data, NFC also plays an important role in the mobile payment. Customers could purchase an item by simply tapping their NFC enabled device against an NFC enabled menu or a tag on an item they wish to purchase. After they receive the information about the item the customer can then choose to go ahead and select the item for purchase.
The device could be linked via PayMate to a payment mechanism such as their bank account or a prepaid account and the customer could then authorise the payment directly on to their mobile phones. This acts as a digital wallet, thus eliminating the need to carry cash and credit cards.

Customers can dial 123 (toll-free) to get information and enjoy easy activation for a range of Value added services to suit their needs.
This service offers information about news, job alerts, astrology reports, Sports, Music, recipes, filmy gossip and more. This offers the customers all the information they need in a single number (123) by keeping them updated with their latest offerings.
They have also rolled out a fresh ad campaign featuring Irfan Khan and Prakash Raj that explains how 123 will empower customers experience products and services that will help them do much more than just talk on mobile phone!

Tata DOCOMO launches SMS based VAS service – Video News Alerts
Tata DOCOMO has launched new Value Added Service (VAS service) called Video News Alert in partnership with business channel group Network 18. This would let the users to know the latest news around the world in the form of video clip that could be streamed and also downloaded by both 2G & 3G subscribers. The customers can also search and view news stories, like it, participate in polls and also share their opinion.
To subscribe to this service customers need to SMS VIDEO NEWS to 53333 (Toll Free) or Via IVR by Dialing 155223, after that they would receive confirmation. They would receive 3 video alerts per day in the form of WAP links that could be used to stream or download the video. To unsubscribe SMS ‘UNSUB VIDEONEWS‘ to 53333.
This VAS service would work on all WAP enabled mobile phones. There are no charges to subscribe or use this service, however data charge of 10kb/10p would be charged for viewing or downloading videos.
